TABER CORNFEST

Taber is famous for their corn, and they celebrate the harvest with an annual two day festival.
This year, the Taber & District Chamber of Commerce proudly presents Cornfest 2012, August 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Taber Cornfest is one of Southern Alberta’s largest outdoor festivals where admission is FREE and there is entertainment and activities for people of all ages.
This year they have all the favourite events from years past including corn stuffing, Corn Country Cruisers car show, Pancake Breakfast, and more! New this year is the Cabiri Performance Troupe, Marilyn & Elvis, go kart racing, and the local farmer’s market downtown. As always, free live entertainment will be provided Friday and Saturday. The weekend ends off with a fireworks show Saturday evening. The festivities take place mainly in Confederation Park.
This fun filled weekend would not be possible without the businesses, organizations, and volunteers who work diligently to make Taber the Corn Capital of the Canada.

Thursday, August 23rd
- 5:00 to 7:30 pm - Farmers Market at Taber Administration Building Parking Lot
- 5:00 to 11:00 pm - Sneak-a-peek Midway Wristband Night (all you can ride - one night only)
- 6:00 to 9:00 pm - Zumbathon Demonstration at the Civic Center
Friday, August 24th

- Live Entertainment on Stage - Marilyn Monroe & Elvis
- 3:00 to 8:00 pm - Kent Moffit Chili Cook Off and Century 21 Scarecrow Contest ($500 in prizes to be given away)
- 5:30 to 6:15 pm - Opening Ceremonies - O'Canada & Global Drums U of L Taiko Group at the Main Stage
- 6:00 pm - Lamb Weston Cornbread Contest Judging starts. Bring your favorite cornbread to judged! Call Leanne to enter 403-223-3088
