Within GlobalFest is the OneWorld Festival, the Firework's Festival, the Night Market and hundreds of thousands of people, local and tourists of different cultures coming together to celebrate the cultural diversity within Calgary's communities. GlobalFest's mandate as a not-for-profit society is to produce an inclusive, world class, multi-faceted arts and culture festival that celebrates and showcases cultural diversity and artistic excellence within our communities and across the globe. Since 2003, GlobalFest has had cultural pavilions and countries presenting pyromusicals in Elliston Park, located in the Forest Lawn district. The park is open from 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm each evening of the festival.
Schedule Of Events
OneWorld Festival - Pavilions from some of Calgary's cultural communities will showcase the heritage dress, cultural music, performances, and interactive activities. There are three performance stages, and many ethnic food booths filling Elliston Park. The Night Market comes back for its seventh year and features vendors who share and sell authentic arts and keepsakes. Human Rights Forum: Presented by TD, the Human Rights Forum is a part of GlobalFest's programming to promote diversity, cross cultural respect and equality in our community. It is an excellent platform for sharing experiences, knowledge, and practical solutions necessary to address issues of racism and discrimination. This year's theme centres around women, gender, and identity issues through a viewing lens of ethno-cultural diversity.
