GlobalFest

GlobalFest showcases the heritage of more than 60 cultures with a variety of events and activities that celebrate Calgary’s diversity and support cross-cultural respect, not to mention light up the sky with some amazing fireworks! For the fifth year, both the GlobalFest OneWorld and Trico Homes International Fireworks Festivals will take place at the same location: Elliston Park in East Calgary.

GLOBALFEST ONEWORLD FESTIVAL

Elliston Park opens at 6:00 pm, so come early, set up your lawn chairs and take in the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes that the OneWorld Festival has to offer. Pavilions from some of Calgary's unique cultural communities will be showcasing their heritage dress, cultural music, incredible performances, and interactive activities for all. Take a stroll through the Night Market; featuring vendors that will have authentic handcrafted arts and keepsakes.

Calgary has the world in its hands embracing diversity across the planet through food, drink, entertainment, fireworks, and tons of family fun.

The OneWorld Festival will play host to various activities on site:

  • OneWorld Village with 15 Cultural Pavilions and 4 Performance Stages
  • Aboriginal Tipi Village
  • OneWorld Café (12 Ethnic Food Booths) & International Bar

Committee for the Advancement of Native Employment (CANE) Tipi

Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is instrumental in working with Aboriginal peoples throughout Canada. Committee for Awareness of Native Employees (CANE) is a volunteer employee group that has provided the tipi and support through volunteerism with PSAC Human Rights Committee. The Calgary Human Rights Committee is involved with the four equity-seeking groups, Aboriginal issues being one. National Aboriginal Peoples Circle (NAPC) is the Aboriginal initiative that brings together employees from several components to discuss issues that are relevant to their community for continued success and mentoring.

Back for a third year, GlobalFest will be hosting its Night Market at Elliston Park for all six nights of the festival on August 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, and 26! Come see what our featured vendors have to offer.
