Opera NUOVA is a charitable, not-for-profit organization, committed to offering a unique blend of innovative performances and artistic excellence as it fulfills its commitment to debuting emerging artists. Its productions serve to further educate and expand the knowledge of different kinds of opera while thoroughly entertaining the public.

Opera NUOVA is committed to eliminating the barriers that keep people from attending the arts and, more specifically, opera. In order to enhance accessibility, it provides high quality productions that feature Canada’s most promising emerging artists in intimate venues with a casual atmosphere and modest pricing.

Because of Opera NUOVA's commitment to modest pricing, the Vocal Arts Festival relies on a vast array of enthusiastic support including corporate sponsorships, government funding, and invaluable volunteer contributions. Especially integral to Opera NUOVA’s support is the Dream Makers Team. By becoming a Dream Maker, you help nurture the Opera NUOVA dream into an ongoing reality.

Opera NUOVA volunteers are a valued group of the opera family and it would not be possible to reach its goals without their help. Its volunteers perform a number of important tasks. They also work backstage, helping to build or paints sets or even manning a spotlight during performances. Volunteers do office tasks, mailings and hand-addressing projects or help with any number of odd jobs.

Whatever your skills and availability, Opera NUOVA can match your schedule to its needs. Volunteers receive complimentary tickets and are honoured at special volunteer events.

Become a Billet Host

Participants in the Opera NUOVA summer training program come from across the country. These young artists require a place to stay while they are here. Billeting a singer or pianist can be a rewarding experience and we are always looking for people who are willing to open their homes to these artists.
