Get ready for an action-packed weekend of events in Alert Bay. SeaFest kicks off July 31 with the Superhero Parade. Then there's a long list of festivities all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday along the waterfront: local art, local music, a talent contest, a fishing derby, kids zone, fitness challenge and more.

10 a.m. - Superhero parade
10:30 - Opening ceremonies
11:00 - Kids zone opens- inflatable fun, face painting, bubble pool, scavenger hunt,magician, balloon art
11:30 - Total Jeopardy
12:00 - Fishing derby starts (govt dock) - Friday noon - Saturday, 2 p.m Must have valid fishing licence to register. Prizes for biggest salmon, biggest ground fish and hidden weight. More information: Eric Gregory, 250-974-8255.

2:30 - Seafood chowder cookoff
