9th Annual Fernival at Fernie Alpine Resort featuring Wide Mouth Mason! Fernival is Fernie Alpine Resort's Closing Weekend Celebration. Fernie Alpine Resort is the place to be this spring as the annual Fernival event gets underway and rockin,’ April 15.

Catch the enthusiastic spirit of this spring music festival, which includes live music, popular DJs, a retro-themed weekend and some fun but intense competitions to wrap up the ski season. 

Ontario-based rock band Platnium Blonde will be the headliner for this, one of the largest spring concerts in the Rockies. On April 9, the final ski day of the season for Fernie Alpine Resort, be prepared to laugh your skis off with the hilarious Slope Soaker. Mix in the sun, some beverages on the outdoor patio, and you’ve got all the makings of one of the best season wrap-up parties in the west.

SATURDAY APRIL 15

11AM: Raging Elk Powder Pedal Paddle Relay Race

  • For over 30 years the PPP has been going strong. Teams of 1-5 people ski, bike, paddle, & run in a fun yet competitive relay race. Race starts at 11am and ends around 1pm.

12-6PM: Party in the Plaza! Free concert

  • 12pm – 6pm: Kokanee Event Gardens open in the Plaza with Skratch Bastid spinning the decks
    2pm (tentative): Backroad Traveler Band live on stage - high energy Calgary rock cover band to get the party started!
    4pm (tentative): 
    WIDE MOUTH MASON live on stage - 20-year veteran Canadian mega-band, live, loud, and free! 

SUNDAY APRIL 16 - Sunday Funday!

1PM: Coca Cola Slope Soaker event! Set your up prime seat patio view early at the Rusty Edge.

  • Can you make it across Slope Soaker Pond? Grab your skis or snowboard, even dress up in your most creative costumes! Additional prizes and points will be awarded for costumes, creativity and biggest crowd reaction!
    Entries limited to 75 people, for ages 12 and up.

AFTERNOON:

  • BC/DC - live and loud on the big stage in the plaza. Canada's original dirtbag metal-heads. Often imitated, never bettered!
