Grab your bocce balls, your zaniest costume and get in on the bocce action. JulyFest goes on all hours of the weekend with the main event  — the Canadian Bocce Championships. There will also be extreme skateboarding, an invitational soccer tournament, a Homecoming Parade, and a night of dancing with some rockin' Canadian bands.

Canadian Bocce Championships

Canadian Bocce Championships happen all weekend and it's accompanied by live music. it all starts Friday afternoon and continues until the final matches are over Sunday. Cash prizes go to the victors for best bocce team and best dressed. Get your finest bocce players together and get as creative with the costumes as you like. (Maximum five players on each team)

Schedule Of Events

  • Julyfest 2016 Opening Ceremonies – 3:45 pm

    • Come join us as we start off the weekend’s festivities in the bocce area beside the Civic Centre on the corner of Rotary Drive and Archibald Street. 

  • Canadian Bocce Championships Get Under Way – 4:00 pm

    • Bocce area beside the Civic Centre on the corner of Rotary Drive and Archibald Street. 

  • A Taste of Kimberley – 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm

    • Come and taste the wide array of Kimberley’s distinguished cuisine in the bocce area beside the Civic Centre on the corner of Rotary Drive and Archibald Street. 

The Canadian Bocce Championships continue at 9  a.m. – 10 p.m.  Live music begins at Noon – 9 p.m. in the Bocce Pits. Kids Fest begins in Rotary Park. PT the Clown, bouncy castles, slides, interactive educational and entertainment activities begin at 10 a.m.

The Julyfest Soccer tournament begins with over 150 games played on eight fields. 

Other events scheduled to occur include: 5-K &10-K run, Junior Tennis Tournament will begin on July 16, with times and schedules to be announced

JulyFest Parade

The parade starts at 10:30 a.m., at the Centennial Field and ends in the Civic Centre Arena. 

  • Canadian Bocce Championships Final Games – 10:00 am

    • Bocce area beside the Civic Centre on the corner of Rotary Drive and Archibald Street. 

  • ***Sullivan Pub Extreme Longboard Downhill Race – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Tickets/Registration

  • Registration for the Bocce Championships: $105 (includes GST/HST) for each team.

  • All Bocce participants have to be at least 19 years of age.

  • Saturday Night Dance Party:  $30 + fee and GST/HST

More Information

Like all great festivals, JulyFest needs volunteers to keep the bocce balls rolling. Volunteer positions include: bocce refs, beverage servers, volunteer greeters, ticket sellers, parade staff, set-up and take-down staff.
