EDMONTON, AB – Small businesses will soon learn how to tell their stories more effectively, thanks to a series of Seekers Media social media workshops made possible through the generous support of TELUS Optik Local.

Seekers Media is delivering a series of workshops in 16 communities across Alberta and British Columbia in early 2016. The workshops will share many of the techniques Seekers Media and its collaborators have learned to grab attention in the crowded digital media environment.

“To get noticed, you have to produce content that is ‘snackable’ and shareable,” explains Jim Barr, the Producer of the tour. Snackable content is described as bite-sized chunks that can be quickly consumed by its audience.

“With the technology that sits in the palm of our hand, any person, business or destination has the power to turn itself into its own media outlet,” says Barr.

Video producer Chris Wheeler and photographer Jeff Bartlett have made their life’s work generating content that gets noticed and spurs engagement.

“I think digital and mobile content is the absolute best way to advertise in today's marketplace! And it's key to develop community involvement, too, because with online media we all become real-time advocates for the places we live and play,” says Jeff Bartlett.

Seekers Media’s influencer network includes some of Canada’s top minds in social media content production and growth strategies. “Having the know-how to showcase your experiences through video is an invaluable way to connect with others,” says Chris Wheeler.

The complete schedule of communities and dates, along with participant sign-up information, will be available soon at Seekers-Media.com, and how-to videos generated from the tour will be available on “How to” videos generated from the tour will be available on TELUS Optik TV Video On Demand, in 2016.
