Kick off the sesquicentennial celebrations at Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site

Sesquicentennial may be a tough word to say, but start practising now, because you'll be hearing a lot about it throughout 2017. Canada’s Sesquicentennial - or 150th year of Confederation - will be celebrated from coast to coast to coast and along all the rivers, lakers and in towns and cities and communities in between. Head to Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site on the shores of the North Saskatchewan River for the Voyageurs Rendezvous  on June 30 and July 1st.

The Voyageurs Rendezvous is a 23-day canoe race starting at the Historic Site and ending in Le Pas, Manitoba. Help celebrate the significance of our waterways as a means of exploration, transportation and development of Canada. During the event you'll have an opportunity to dip into 150 years of voyageur history including Aboriginal cultural games, sports, art performances and interpretive media displays.
