    The Wapiti Music is all about one thing. Incredible Canadian Indie music. For it's fifth year, the festival opens its doors to class acts such as The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Lovecoast, Close Talker, Mounties and more! If you are in Brooks, Alberta on August 11th and 12th, you have walked into the largest gathering of medieval and historical re-enactments in Western Canada. And you will be amazed at the demonstrations! Come as you are or as you would in the year 1450.

    Each year on the second Sunday in August, the streets of Marda Loop come alive with the New Orleans-themed Marda Gras Street Festival. This one-day free public event includes the sights and sounds of New Orleans, with its purple, green and gold pageantry and featuring Jazz, Rhythm, Blues and Zydeco music, street level acts, a variety of cultural performers.

    The Cochrane Agricultural Society Grounds will be the place to be from Aug 18-20 for the annual Cochrane Fair. The weekend will be full of events from lumberjack shows, midway rides, bull riding, mutton busting, music, dog shows and the popular extreme cowboy challenge.
