Try archery or learn traditional skills like beading at Woodland Cree First Nation Treaty Days.

Learn traditional language and celebrate local culture during this festival that takes place at the Woodland Cree Recreational and Traditional Cultural site on Simon Lake.

"What I am most excited for is the traditional teachings and experiencing everyone come together around our culture," explains Kindy Kramer, a Woodland Cree member and one of the Treaty Days organizers.

All are welcome and for those looking for a signature indigenous experience, you've found it. New this year are a series of traditional teepees offering traditional courses on things like beading, managing leather and hides, and the art of fur trapping—all taught by elders.

"A traditional camp throughout the weekend allows anyone to try and enjoy our traditional food, featuring moose stew, duck soup, traditionally prepared fish and more," explains Kramer.

There is no cash on site, so bring some to get in on the 50/50 raffle, the open-air market and the huge outdoor BINGO with big cash prizes happening 3pm, Saturday June 21. Saturday is also the Grand Entry and Parade in celebration of National Indigenous Day.  Daily Wagon rides, photo booth and tons more.

Head here for the full schedule.
