Cultural capital
Alberta's capital city, Edmonton (aka #YEG) boasts the second largest Fringe theatre festival in the world, a Heritage Fest like no other, Taste of Edmonton’s annual culinary tour de force and live music events galore.

Spectacular event settings
And what a backdrop! Many of Edmonton’s biggest and best events happen either within the North Saskatchewan River valley—like the Edmonton Folk Fest or the Flying Canoe Volant Festival—or in the neighbouring Whyte Ave area.

Sports events
The city also hosts major international sporting events, like the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada (2015) and 2021 World Triathlon Championships.

In winter 2022, #Shredmonton hosted The Style Experience with Snowboard Canada, erecting the largest big air snowboard ramp ever built in Commonwealth Stadium.

In 2023, you can cheer on the Canadian Road Cycling Championships, FIBA Men's/Women's 3x3 Basketball, to name a couple.
