Soak up the sun and enjoy some festival fun in Vernon

You don’t have to take a rocket ship to visit the sun this summer, just hop in your car with some friends and head to the Okanagan region of British Columbia to take in some sweet festivals and epic views.

This summer has a stacked lineup of incredible festivals and events coming to the area that you will want to attend and you can work on your tan because they are known for their sunny summer days in Vernon. Plus, Vernon is home to some incredible mountain biking and hiking trails.

August 12 - 14: Savour the Sun: SilverStar

Indulge your taste buds in this savoury food and wine focused event featuring two unique, once-in-a-lifetime dining opportunities courtesy of the culinary chefs at SilverStar.

The weekend will feature two special dinners in the evening on the first day and then the rest of the weekend you will be able to freely indulge and explore the various tastes of some of the finest wines from across BC.

There will also be live entertainment featuring Canadian singer-songwriter Andrew Allen, which will be free to attendees.

Aug 20 - 21: Kalamalka Classic SUP Festival

Surf's up in Vernon, at Kalamalka Lake! Come get your SUP on with this festival that brings together beginners up to longtime paddlers for a weekend of beach fun.

From entry level races (the 2.5 mile Eagle Dash) up to the classic 10-miler Kalamalka Crossing that traverses the length of the entire lake, every level of paddler can test their skill here.

September 10: SilverStar Beer & Cider Fest

Oktoberfest is coming early this year, and it is happening right here in the heart of BC. Some of the best beers & ciders from across BC will be at your fingertips in Vernon this September.

There will be local food vendors set up around the festival grounds to fill your taste buds with joy and if that wasn’t enough there will also be live music.

Your senses will truly be in paradise at this first annual beer & cider based festival happening at SilverStar Mountain.

September 18: Okanagan Rail Ride

Finish your summer with a breathtaking ride along Kalamalka Lake as part of the Okanagan Rail Ride!

This year is the second annual rendition of this event and will feature a beautiful cycling route in the Okanagan, a BBQ after the ride with wine and beer, an event T-shirt for everyone registered before September 6, a souvenir wine glass, live music, and refreshment stations along the course.
