Nuova Vocal Arts Festival

Canada's only summer opera and music theatre festival! NUOVA Vocal Arts celebrates the dramatic and vocal arts with five concerts, four main stage performances, and four masterclasses, all happening over the course of May and June.

A non-profit organization established in 1998, Opera NUOVA is Edmonton's celebration of Canadian operatic vocalists and chamber musicians.

Ticketed, pay what you can, and free masterclasses (offered in both opera and musical theatre) are available. 

You can buy tickets to individual shows or consider the various festival pass options: festival, concert, duo-opera, and duo-musical theatre.

Remembered by his daughter, Irving Berlin’s The Melody Lingers On is a musical and biographical revue of Berlin’s composed ballads, dance numbers, novelty tunes and love songs that defined American popular music.

A Chamber opera based on the Jane Austen classic novel. Each show is limited to 80 seats.

Opera: Flight, by Jonathan Dove
venue: Robert Tegler Hall (Concordia University)
A comedic opera exploring the story of a refugee who lives in an airport for 18 years. Inspired by an Iranian refugee who lived at Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Musical: A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
venue: The Capitol Theatre, Fort Edmonton Park
Love murder mystery stories? A Gentleman’s Guide To Love and Murder by Freedman & Lutvak brings a musical comedy of indelible music, constant laughter and one actor playing all eight of the doomed heirs who meet their ends in creative and absurd ways.
