In Western Canada, one day it’s summer, the next, fall is here. Almost without warning, the leaves are changing colour and Halloween is on its way. But that’s a good thing! Fall in Alberta and BC brings with it apple picking, fall fairs, Thanksgiving feasts, colourful aspen hikes, fun Halloween costume parties, and yes, pumpkin spice lattes.
It also brings festivals dedicated to celebrating the arts, Indigenous heritage, food, nature and outdoor adventure.

October 14 - 15: Rocky Mountain Food & Wine Festival - Calgary, AB
Explore an incredible array of dynamic wines, smooth spirits, and downright delicious beers from around the globe, all under one roof at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park. Cap it all off with tantalizing bites from some of Calgary’s best restaurants and food purveyors, and you’ve got a can’t-miss event.
October 15: Victoria's 6th Annual Oktoberfest: Stein & Dine - Victoria, BC
Stein and Dine will offer a fantastic selection of BC craft beer to wet the appetite, from Germanic staples to classic West Coast styles. In the tradition of the classic Oktoberfest style, Roast Meat & Sandwich Shop will be preparing popular Germanic favourites for your enjoyment.

October 8 - 9: Grizzly Ultra Marathon - Canmore, AB
Head to the beautiful, mountainous town of Canmore and take on either the 50km solo marathon or team up for the two or five person relay races.
October 7 - 9: Royal Victoria Marathon - Victoria, BC
Head to Vancouver Island for the marathon, half marathon, 8K and Thrifty Foods Kids Run in Victoria, BC.
