Catch YEG winter events before the snow melts

Posted:

Ice climbing, fat biking, cross-country skiing, snow sculpture, live music, art installations and a 20-foot fire sculpture… it all happened in the Edmonton region this weekend, with the Canadian Birkebeiner, Silver Skate Festival and YEG Snow & Ice Fest all on at once!

Which begs the simple question: if you weren’t out enjoying the snow and the warm weather this weekend in Edmonton, what were you doing?

If you didn’t get out, you haven’t missed your chance: the Silver Skate and the Birkie continue through Feb 20 and 27, respectively.

It’s not long now until spring arrives. Don’t miss the snowy fun coming up this weekend!

Winter weekends like these should leave little doubt that Edmonton is claiming its place among the winter cities of the world. An active, outdoor culture and an artistic scene are feeding into cool experiences that bring colour, light and warmth to the winter months.

While you're out and about, check out Edmonton's kicking winter patio scene.
