There’s a buzz on the ski hills, spreading outwards to other outdoor live venues and festivals as we break into spring in Western Canada. Live music, sun and snow make a killer party combo, for our own northern version of March Madness.
Many ski resorts send off the final weeks of the ski season with a major bang: slush cups, bathtub races, and Hawaiin themed ski days. We have pulled together some epic events from across Alberta and British Columbia to help you satiate your spring fever with music, skiing and more.
So get your festival friends on the phone and load up the car because we are taking you from the mountainous kootenays all the way to downtown Edmonton and so many more sweet places with these five spring festivals!

Not into spring skiing? That’s okay. Edmonton will explode to life on March 27th for this week-long event that will be spread across multiple venues with over 50 performances from comedy to music to drag. Headliners include TOPS, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Teke:Teke, Julian Taylor and so many more.There will be something unique and epic for anyone. Jasper Pride & Ski Festival, Jasper AB
April 1 - April 10, 2022
The Jasper Pride & Ski Festival is a 10 day celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Jasper and will feature events such as a Pride Party, the Vinophilia for those wine lovers, and a drag show.
As part of the Jasper Pride Festival, Marmot will be hosting Proud and Free which will feature events such as the Marmot Pride Parade and the Alpine fun race. There will also be various deals at Marmot Basin as part of the Jasper Pride Festival.
Fernival at Fernie Alpine Resort
April 9 - April 10, 2022
Celebrate the last day of skiing at Fernie Alpine Resort with live music from Stage Fright and Live Wire on Saturday and from Hark Raving Sirens on Sunday. There's also a little competitive fun on the mountain for those skiers, and beer gardens to unwind after the days of dancing and skiing at the annual Fernival event at Fernie Alpine Resort.
The resort is celebrating 60 years so expect a bang at this year's Fernival. Full event details available on the official event page.
