We are into the peak of summer these days and it is the best time of year to be a festival lover because good weather means we get the fullest experience from our festival trips.

BC festival goers this August will be met with some incredible weather and a stacked lineup of festivals to choose from.

Here are seven of the festivals coming to BC in August.

August 5-6: Wapiti Music Festival, Fernie

The Wapiti Music Festival is all about celebrating Canadian indie music and will bring you a stoke-worthy lineup from across the country to the beautiful mountain town of Fernie for two days of musical celebrations.

August 6: Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival, Burnaby

Take to Deer Park for this epic one-day blues & roots festival in the heart of Burnaby. Tickets are reasonably priced at $50 for a single ticket or $150 for 4 tickets, making this an affordable event to attend with friends.

August 11 - 14: Summertime Blues Festival, Nanaimo

The annual Summertime Blues Festival returns to downtown Nanaimo for four days of musical fun in Maffeo Sutton Park. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets because this is the perfect cure for the summertime blues.

August 11 - 21: Nanaimo Fringe Festival, Nanaimo

There is nothing like a hearty laugh and the folks at the Nanaimo Fringe will provide a constant supply, along with a good dose of tears, moans, chuckles and cheers. 

The Nanaimo Fringe brings acts on stage to showcase new scripts, obscure and edgy material you won't see or hear in many other venues.

August 12 - 14: Robson Valley Music Festival, Dunster

What’s better than a weekend of live music with friends? Doing it next to Shushwap lake and surrounded by the mountains in Salmon Arm. With headliners such as Tom Cochrane and Antibalas, you won’t want this weekend to end.

August is a month of sun across the province and the last full month of summer before we transition into the fall, but it doesn’t mean the end of the fun.
